Clear-Com Communication Systems plans to introduce version 5.0 of its Eclipse Digital Matrix high-performance intercom system at InfoComm 08 (booth C3583). Acting as a central switching unit for communications across a facility, Eclipse Digital Matrix Version 5.0 links Clear-Com's V-Series panels with a CellCom digital wireless system for cost-effective and universal access to communication in large facilities with greater connectivity options, said company officials.

According to Clear-Com, version 5.0 adds more connectivity and expandability through robust E1/T1 telecom connections, fiber linking with intelligent switchover, and AES Digital Connectivity to V-Series panels for increased control of audio for remote operation. Working with an E-FIB card, fiber linking between Eclipse intercom matrixes of the Median and Omega classes enables large and multivenue productions to network their intercom systems together. Multiple Eclipse systems can then act as one non-blocking matrix using redundant high-capacity fiber, creating a large, full-duplex communications system for mobile production and studio integration.

"An effective intercom system needs to be accessible, dependable and flexible to support the production workflow and communication needs throughout a venue," said Matt Danilowicz, Clear-Com managing director, in a statement.
