What Are The Signs Of Depression ? - When To Be On High Alert

Author: Robert William Locke

If you notice that you have several, a few or a majority of these possible signs of depression, you should seek medical help because it may be a sign that depression is knocking at your door. Lack of motivation combined with permanently sad and anxious thoughts, low sex drive and chronic fatigue are some of the symptoms. Sometimes these signs of depression may only be a temporary phase and may only last a few weeks. Other times, however they are indicators of a debilitating condition which can have a negative impact on our relationships, work and future.

If you find it a problem in controlling your moods, and changes in eating habits , then these could be additional signs of depression and will probably not go away by themselves. If you find that these thoughts are preventing you from doing your work ,then you may want to seek medical advice or at least get informed about the possible treatment scenarios as these could all be warning depression signs.

Teenage girls are much more likely to suffer from depression than boys in fact the number is as high as twice as many. The reason for this seems to be that girls are under enormous peer pressure and parental pressure as well, to look good, perform well academically and be just successful. This can have a devastating effect on many girls and they begin to show signs of depression. There is a genetic link in that parents who have suffered or who actually are depressed will probably produce children or teenagers who will have the same problems and therefore they should watch out for depression signs. In teenagers, there seems to be a higher parent/child correlation than in children.

Exercise, yoga, green time and diet can all help to improve mood which is basically the key to solving depression. But medication in one form or another is often needed. The only problem is that many depression meds have side effects which are not at all pleasant and may case even more anxiety and other symptoms than they are supposed to cure. Once any signs of depression have been confirmed as depression, you will have to decide what meds to take, in consultation with your doctor.

Why not go for a natural remedy for depression ? These are remedies which have been proven time and time again to be effective in improving mood, and lessening anxiety. They are non-addictive and contain no additives or colourings either. The main ingredients are St, John's Wort and The Passion flower herb which is full of antioxidants which are so valuable for well being in general.
